All liquid phase – why feed from the top? Some towers similar to this take in material from the bottom; what is the difference between these two types of feeding?
Principle of aromatics clay purification: The clay column makes use of the adsorption and catalytic properties of clay; at temperatures of 175–200°C, the acidic active centers on the clay cause olefins to polymerize and alkylate to form high-boiling-point compounds, which are then removed in subsequent distillation stages to ensure that the acid wash color of the aromatic products meets the required standards. Generally, we can see that things of this kind enter either from below or from above, and there is a reason for each approach. In the case of pure adsorption processes, entry usually occurs from below; at least that’s what I’ve observed. If there are exceptions, please forgive my lack of knowledge. For processes that involve reactions, the issue of heat release during those reactions must be taken into account; if heat is released, it’s necessary to allow entry from above in order to reduce the time the substance stays there.
The inlet temperature is 199°C, and the outlet temperature is 196℃
