Indirect heating of the tower bottom. The purpose of preheating the feedstock is to save energy and reduce the reboiler load. However, as the amount of vapor rising from the bottom of the tower decreases, the L/V ratio increases. What impact will this have on the operation of existing packed tower systems?
Will the separation efficiency decrease? How can improvements be made to enhance separation efficiency?
