Valve selection for cooling tower water treatment systems

Most of the valves in our cooling tower water treatment system are butterfly valves. A few days ago, I discussed this with someone from a water treatment manufacturer; they said that butterfly valves have poor sealing performance and recommended using two-stream gate valves instead. I would like to ask the teachers: is it better to use butterfly valves or gate valves in water systems?
In terms of sealing performance alone, disc valves have slightly poorer sealing capabilities. However, in terms of cost-effectiveness, they represent a good choice when very high sealing standards are not required. .

For rubber-lined centerline butterfly valves, a better option would be a triple-eccentric butterfly valve. In the case of gate valves, manual operation is sufficient, but automated control requires more space
The pipe diameters in water systems are relatively large, so butterfly valves are generally chosen, as they require fewer opening and closing operations.
