The bottom filter of the coking distillation tower needs to be cleaned frequently. Do you have any effective modification solutions that can reduce the labor intensity?
No, the coke tower must be supplied with antifoam agents and quench oil to prevent the carryover of coke powder; the filter size can be increased appropriately to reduce the frequency of cleaning
Add a valve at the opening under the filter, with the same diameter as the filter element. Add a 40 valve on top of the large filter cover. After removal, simply open the bottom valve and pour it out using a stick through the top valve.
The oil temperature is very high; it’s not safe to use so many valves. In that case, the filter also needs to be installed at a higher position
Do you have any practical experience? How effective is it?
The defoamer and quench oil are injected through nozzles to increase the contact area and enhance dust cleaning efficiency.
We only added valves below, but the coke powder does not fall down automatically.
Our workshop has two coking units: one with a capacity of 1.5 million, built in 2006, featuring relatively small filters and not very large pumps that require frequent cleaning; the other unit has a capacity of 1 million, with larger filters that are horizontal in design, and it operates quite well.
It’s okay if our filters need to be cleaned only once after a long time
We do use defoamers as well as quench oil; generally, we don’t clean the bottom of the tower – it hasn’t been cleaned in half a year anyway. If the pump at the bottom of the tower doesn’t work, then cleaning isn’t possible
