Currently, whenever there is an upward trend in the pressure drop at the bottom of the distillation tower – from a normal value of 29 to 45 – the liquid level in the diesel stripping tower drops rapidly. After washing the tower, the pressure drop returns to normal levels, but it rises again after a few days. Could this be due to the cooling reflux?
Cold reflux carries water, causing salt deposition on the tray plates and thereby increasing the pressure drop.
The typical symptom of salt accumulation on the trays is apparently that the tower washing time is too short and insufficient; a decrease in pressure does not indicate that the cleaning has been completed. It is necessary to wait until the diesel extracted becomes clearer, and to continue washing for a few more hours. Moreover, after the tower cleaning is complete, the temperature of the tray should not rise too quickly, otherwise dirt will be carried back up again
In tower washing, fresh water is pumped in using a crude gasoline pump and circulated back to the distillation tower via cooling; should it be supplied from the diesel outlet of the unit or from the top circulation pump?
The diesel top-level check also requires drainage; it’s mainly the diesel
I think the tower washing time is too short; additionally, was the CL content in the diesel analyzed during the tower washing process? It is recommended that there be a sharp drop in the data before washing can be stopped
