For the four-nozzle gasification system (the towers that are crucial for gasification, such as the water scrubbing tower, the hot water evaporation tower, and the cyclone separator), apart from installing additional level gauges, what effective methods can be used to prevent false readings of the liquid level? It has been found in practice that in many factories, due to years of operation, only one level gauge per tower is still functional. If even that last level gauge starts giving faulty readings, what other effective methods can operators on-site and those in the control room use to make judgments and take action? I hope experts can share their knowledge; I’m a beginner seeking guidance. I hope to learn the most practical methods, as I think these are problems we are likely to encounter once we start working formally.

I wonder if, by observing the flow rate, blockages in the pipelines could cause fluctuations in the flow, thereby interfering with accurate judgment? Is it possible to make a more intuitive judgment by changing the level of pressure or pressure difference?

1- The level gauge should be flushed regularly. 2- The water quality in the system needs to be controlled properly; if scaling forms at the pressure-taking port of the level gauge, it will be difficult to clean it away using the flushing water for the level gauge. 3- Coal quality is also crucial; avoid using coal with high calcium content.
