Fixing method of support beams inside the desulfurization spray tower to the tower wall

It can be seen that on the previous engineering drawings, the support beams of the spray layer extended out from the tower wall; reinforcement rings were installed on the tower wall, and the support beams were welded to these reinforcement rings as well as to the tower wall itself. Why can’t the support beam be welded directly to the inner wall of the tower? On the drawings, the support beams of the demister are directly welded to the inner wall of the tower. Are there any relevant materials available for reference regarding this structure, taking into account factors such as the weight of the spray layer or other considerations? Thank you!
It’s also necessary to consider ease of installation. A beam that’s so large makes it very difficult to weld it directly; why not weld the support rings first and then install the beam? Moreover, the supporting strength of the support rings is greater than that of a beam welded directly
