Actually, one baffle is sufficient; the cross-shaped baffles are used to enhance stability, and they are generally placed on the side of the pump outlet, while there are none on the reboiler side. Additionally, this device has another use: during maintenance, it prevents debris from falling into the extraction pipeline when removing or installing trays or cleaning debris from the trays. The extraction opening at the bottom of the tower needs to be covered with something, ranging from a simple cloth to a woven bag. However, if there is a round or oval hole without any support, it’s easy for debris to fall into the pipeline. With this cross-shaped anti-vortex plate, things are much easier. :lol
