In the wastewater stripping tower of the MTO unit, the reboiler steam cannot be used for stripping, which results in an excessive COD level in the purified water; moreover, the pressure drop across the tower is close to 100 kPa. In these operating conditions, do any experts have any good suggestions for handling this situation? The reflux at the top of the tower has been stopped, and the feed heat exchanger is being taken out for cleaning; as a result, the feed temperature can only be maintained at 90 degrees.
Was the tower pressure drop previously 35 kPa?
Are you using a steam trap at the steam outlet of your reboiler? Is the drainage temperature too high, causing poor steam flow and resulting in a decrease in steam flow rate?
Yes, it was basically around 40 before; it never exceeded 60
1. Consider that the feed load to the tower is too high. 2. Consider that there is a problem with the tray, and it needs to be opened for cleaning. 3. Consider whether there is any blockage in your reboiler; if the temperature cannot be increased not due to startup or shutdown operations, but suddenly during normal production. There’s no need to consider this one.
