The skirt of the tower is made of stainless steel S30408; what value should be used for the allowable stress of that base ring in the SW6 calculations?
All-stainless steel skirt base? Is the section about 500 meters long that is connected to the head also made of stainless steel? If it is the latter, the base ring plate remains carbon steel, and the allowable stress can be taken as normal.
Is it necessary to use stainless steel for the entire skirt base? Generally, a 500 mm transition section is sufficient. Since the base ring is also made of stainless steel, the allowable stress value for stainless steel should be used, which can be found in the material specifications of GB/T150.
In SW6, there are only two values for the skirt seat calculation: 147 for carbon steel, and 170 for low-alloy steel
Since it’s not available, then enter it manually – just type 137. In SW6, in addition to the option to select from a list, manual entry is also accepted.
