Why does the degasification tower using multiple feed streams save the cooling capacity required for propylene refrigerant?

Firstly, the reason for using multiple feed streams is to feed the material at the most suitable tray in the tower, depending on its temperature and composition. The advantage of this approach is that it reduces the energy consumption of the tower, saves refrigerant, and reduces the need for reboiling. In other words, if the feed temperature is 50 degrees and feeding is chosen at the upper part of the tower, more reflux will be required to stabilize the heat balance in that section of the tower.

The composition and temperature of the feed can vary; it is preferable that the temperature of the feed be the same as the temperature and composition inside the tower.
