Can washing the tower with water reduce wax formation? In methanol production, some plants experience wax formation; can washing the tower with water reduce wax accumulation? Would adding a water scrubber after the alcohol separation step to remove methanol and other fusel alcohols from the recycled gas be effective?
After washing, methanol and other impurities in the recycled gas are removed, preventing the growth of paraffin chains.
