After one year of operation, the pressure drop across the distillation column increased by about 3 kPa, reaching 9 kPa. After washing, the pressure drop dropped from 9 kPa to 7 kPa; however, after another 2 months of operation, it rose back to 9 kPa again. If washed again, the same process will occur, so I don’t want to wash it. I’ve heard that there is an oil-soluble cleaning agent that doesn’t require the hassle of washing with water; by injecting it in small amounts over time, it can maintain a stable pressure drop at the top of the tower, allowing this pressure to decrease gradually. I would like to ask everyone if you have used similar cleaning agents.
Start from the source, operate the electrodesalination properly to reduce the salt content in the raw materials. If catalytic materials are purchased externally, it is possible to consider installing a secondary electrodesalination system within the catalytic unit.
Is it effective to return the liquid extracted by top circulation back to the tower?

I recommend a process technology: the on-line desalination technique for distillation towers. This technology has industrial application examples, such as in Hainan. It can be investigated.

A stream of material is drawn from the top circulation system, treated through desalination facilities, and then returned to the top circulation system, with monitoring of chloride and ammonium ions in the top circulation stream. There is proven track record. It enables continuous operation of the device, eliminating the need for online tower cleaning. However, the total investment is high, and a fee per ton of oil processed can be agreed upon with the supplier.
