On the morning of May 20, the third section of the stripping tower for the research and application project on ammonia comprehensive utilization within the conversion condensate system of Future Energy’s coal-to-oil division was installed, thus achieving the planned construction milestones. This also marked significant progress in this project. The research and application project on the comprehensive utilization of ammonia from the shift condensate system is an initiative aimed at reducing costs and increasing efficiency by the Coal-to-Oil Branch in 2020. This project involves concentrating and purifying the low-concentration sulfur-containing ammonia water generated by the existing shift low-temperature condensate stripping system to produce high-purity gaseous ammonia, thereby achieving a balance of ammonia usage across the entire plant, reducing the need to purchase liquid ammonia externally, and indirectly addressing the corrosion issues associated with the original stripping system. Upon completion of the project, the coal-to-oil plant’s boiler denitration system will be able to rely on liquid ammonia supplied internally, which can be sold on the market; this will result in annual savings of over 3.3 million yuan in procurement costs. It is understood that the stripping tower is the largest and most critical piece of equipment in this project. With a total weight of 115 tons, a height of 70 meters, and a diameter of 2.6 meters, the installation of this equipment was carried out through prefabrication in a factory, on-site assembly, and sectional lifting, taking into account factors such as construction quality, schedule, and cost. At present, the project is under intensive and orderly construction, with operation expected to begin by the end of August.
