Corrosion inhibitors are injected at the top of the butane stripping tower; the design team opted for light naphtha to prepare the oil-soluble corrosion inhibitors. Will light naphtha have an impact on the quality of the liquefied gas product? What are the disadvantages if water-soluble corrosion inhibitors are used instead?
It doesn’t work well; the effect is poor. Using a dechlorinating agent to remove chlorine gives excellent results!
The corrosive environment at the top of the tower is wet hydrogen sulfide; the influence of chloride ions is likely not the most significant factor. Have you seen such a case before? With little or no corrosion inhibitor added after dechlorination
