Our unit originally used sulfur-containing wastewater for injection at the top of the atmospheric pressure tower; recently, the pH value of this wastewater has been 2-3, making its properties too poor. I’m preparing a line to supply purified water at the top of the reforming tower, and I want to know if there are any requirements regarding the temperature of this water. Is the amount of water supplied 5% of the amount of distillate gasoline? I hope experts working under normal pressure can provide answers. Thank you so much.
No specific indication is given regarding the temperature. Some literature suggests that this value is around 10% of the total amount of oil and gas at the top of the tower, but I believe this figure should still be determined based on the actual conditions of the installation. This is the experience value; it’s up to you to decide. If 5 tons are sufficient to meet the requirements, then there’s no need to use 10 tons. Apply what you’ve learned in practice; don’t try to apply it mechanically.
