They are particularly suitable for transporting liquids containing hard solids and fibers, as well as very dirty, sticky, or slippery liquids. But how exactly should one choose a good product? Pump flow rate: The flow rate of a sewage pump should be determined based on the second-by-second flow rate required for domestic wastewater disposal; when it is possible to adjust the flow rate, it can be set according to the maximum hourly flow rate of domestic wastewater. Example: The flow rate of the drainage pump in the sump of a fire elevator must be no less than 10 L/s. Pump head: After being determined based on the lift height and pipeline losses, an additional free head of 0.02~0.03 MPa can be applied. Note that the flow velocity of the inlet pipe and the outlet pipe should be controlled between 0.7–2.0 m/s. Pump power: If it is necessary to pump out liquids containing large, hard-to-dissolve debris, the pump selected should be equipped with a crushing mechanism. If it is necessary to lift wastewater containing a high amount of fibers, a submersible sewage pump with a large discharge pipe should be selected. When the motor power of the pump is 7.5 KW or higher, or when the diameter of the outlet pipe is DN100 or larger, it is recommended to use a fixed autotransformer device for the water pump. When the motor power of the pump is less than 7.5 KW or the diameter of the outlet pipe is less than DN100, it is recommended to use a fixed installation with hoses. Today’s submersible sewage pumps are small and lightweight, with many advantages, which has drawn increasing attention from people; their future prospects are very bright. It is a good choice for wastewater discharge from urban enterprises and agricultural irrigation.
