Friends, is it okay to set the pump foundation as shown in the diagram?
No, doing so can easily cause resonance.
This is temporary; will cement be poured around it later, or will it be fixed to the channel steel like this? ? This obviously won’t work; the vibration is too severe.
Thank you. That’s it for this – the anchor bolts fixed on the channel steel. No design has been done for the piping in the tank area; our manager said that no design is necessary, as long as the fire separation distance is sufficient. Personally, I think this is a bit too simplistic; in the long run, loose or corroded anchor bolts could lead to increased vibration. All the pumps I’ve seen have concrete foundations, one foundation per pump; I’ve never seen such an arrangement before. So the concern is whether there will be issues with the safety inspection upon completion or with future safety checks.
