There are two liquid ring vacuum pumps, one in operation and one as a backup. The two pumps have been in use for one and a half years, and one of them has developed leaks. Upon disassembly, it turned out to be in such poor condition – it’s hard to believe that the pump casing could get worn down to this extent. Could anyone help analyze what might be the cause?

Your liquid ring vacuum pump is a distributor, not a distribution disk. This type of vacuum pump has a limited suction range, and the corrosion (erosion) is quite severe. Firstly, it’s likely that the medium in question dissolves easily in water, resulting in corrosive effects; secondly, there is cavitation~
