A vertical multi-stage centrifugal pump is a centrifugal pump that features multiple impellers installed in series, with the flow passing through them sequentially, which is why it is called a vertical multi-stage centrifugal pump. Essentially, the head of a vertical multi-stage centrifugal pump is determined by the impeller design and the circumferential velocity. If the rotational speed cannot be increased further due to other boundary conditions, or if an increase in the impeller diameter results in a too low specific speed and thus low efficiency, the head can be increased by connecting multiple stages in series. With the size and speed remaining unchanged, changing the number of stages does not affect the flow rate of a vertical multi-stage centrifugal pump, as the power requirement and head are proportional to the number of stages. Vertical multi-stage centrifugal pumps are suitable for transporting clean water or liquids with specific physicochemical properties in high-pressure systems, such as for water supply in high-rise buildings, boiler feedwater, fire protection systems, and other applications requiring pressure enhancement in pipelines. Vertical multi-stage centrifugal pumps are made of solid stainless steel and are suitable for use in industries such as chemicals, food processing, brewing, pharmaceuticals, and textiles. It can be customized with stainless steel 306 or 316L material as per the user’s requirements. Pre-startup checks for vertical multi-stage centrifugal pumps: Whether the name, model, key properties of the lubricating oil, and the amount to be added meet the requirements specified in the technical documentation for vertical multi-stage centrifugal pumps ; Are the bearing lubrication system, sealing system, and cooling system in good condition? Are the oil and water pathways of the bearings unobstructed? ; Rotate the rotor of the pump 1–2 times to check whether there is any friction or sticking in the rotor of the vertical multi-stage centrifugal pump ; Are there any debris near the coupling or in areas such as belt guards that could prevent the vertical multi-stage centrifugal pump from rotating? ; Are the foundation bolts of the pump, bearing housing, and motor loose? ; The valves or auxiliary devices in the operating system of vertical multi-stage centrifugal pumps should be positioned at the point where the load is minimal during pump operation; the outlet control valve should be closed ; Start the multi-stage centrifugal pump and check whether the rotation direction of its impeller matches the designed direction. If it does not, the impeller must be brought to a complete stop first; only after adjusting the motor wiring can the pump be started again.
