I have a question for everyone: there is a submersible pump, and the depth below its base plate is 2.2 meters. The customer requires the pump to have a head of 25 meters. So does this Yang Cheng count as being within these 2.2 meters underwater? For Yang Cheng’s case, should the calculation start from the export flange, the bottom plate, or the impeller position? How do the manufacturers calculate it? How do users calculate it then? Are the two the same?
The head should be calculated based on the center of the impeller, while the suction head should be calculated based on atmospheric pressure. That’s how pump factories are; I wonder if the customers are annoyed?
For submersible pumps, there are three head values: the actual suction head, the actual discharge head, and the actual head. The head of a submersible pump generally refers to the height difference between two water surfaces. Although the head of a submersible pump refers to the height difference between two water surfaces, it is actually affected by pipeline resistance, which reduces part of the head. Therefore, the actual head of a submersible pump is primarily determined by the actual water-pressurization head, which in turn is determined by the power of the driving equipment. The actual suction head is determined by both atmospheric pressure and the driving equipment; the role of atmospheric pressure here is mainly to provide a supplementary force.
