The manual for the three-screw pump in the lubricating oil station states that the mesh size of the filter before the pump can be determined based on operating conditions and the viscosity of the medium; generally, a mesh size of 20–80 mesh is suitable. The filtering area should be no less than 20 times the cross-sectional area of the oil suction pipe. In practice, Y-type filters are commonly used before the pump. If the oil suction pipe at the pump’s inlet is DN40, isn’t 20 times too large?
It then depends on the viscosity of the lubricating oil
This is a requirement in the pump construction acceptance specifications: blue-type filters must be used.
