May I ask which pressure-bearing component of the pump does the term \"Clamping rings\" refer to?
It’s not clear what type of pump is referred to in the diagram; literally, I thought it might be a retaining ring, but then I realized that retaining rings are not commonly used in moving equipment. I think the Clamping Ring mentioned in the diagram refers to the mechanical part shown in the following diagram. This type of component is called a retaining ring, or snap ring, or also a circlip (the foreign term being Circlip). It is a type of fastener used in the shaft slots or hole slots of machines and equipment, serving to prevent axial movement of components on the shafts or holes. They are divided into ring guards for holes and ring guards for shafts; those used in pumps should be ring guards for shafts. The forming process usually involves sheet metal punching; the functional cross-section is conical. After assembly, there is \"linear contact\". Larger models are formed by winding wire and removing excess material through punching, resulting in a regular rectangular cross-section, with \"surface contact\" after assembly.
For the positioning of the moving and stationary rings in certain machine seals, something similar to bearing snap rings is used; it’s probably this component, which is generally referred to as a retaining clip.

Thank you. This refers to ordinary pumps in general, without specifying any particular type of pump. In other words, ordinary pumps used in power plants have the following pressure-bearing components, such as the pump casing and pump cover. The clamping ring is also a pressure-bearing component. So I think it might not be the component you mentioned.
Is there a schematic diagram? I’ve never seen anything like a bearing retainer on mechanical seals!

“Does “a regular pump” refer to a centrifugal pump? Still a positive displacement pump? Different types of pumps have different structures, making it difficult to determine the meaning of this term. Also, is this passage excerpted from a standard? Is it still the patent holder’s process package document? From or based on the inquiry letter? Is there any context that can be examined? It might help in explaining the word.
