Our company’s hydrogenation reforming unit is equipped with a high-pressure lean solvent pump, model TD 120X10. At present, the flow rate is adjusted through the minimum flow line; the flow rate at the pump outlet is currently only 24 T/H, with a pressure of 115 MPA. The flow rate required for the chemical reaction process is not sufficient. After removing the balance disk for inspection, no problems were found. What could be the cause? Could it be that the impeller’s mouth ring is worn out? Previously, the temperature of the medium in this pump was only a little over 40 degrees, but now the temperature in the tank from which fluid returns via the minimum flow line is over 60 degrees; the temperature of the solvent being added is around 30 degrees, while the temperature from the pump outlet to the tower inlet is about 70 degrees. Are manual control valves being used now? Automatic control is no longer in use.
How much pressure? 115 Mpa? At such a high pressure, flow control is usually done on a small scale!

How much is the pump outlet valve open? How much is the low-flow line open? Is the pump new or old?
There is an outlet line and a return line; the return line represents the line with the lowest flow rate. At present, the valve openings are controlled manually, at around 60 percent I guess
