Hello everyone, the stroke adjustment knob of the plunger-type metering pump has numerical markings from 0 to 9. Do these numerical markings represent the flow rate? How was this calculated? I called the manufacturer and said that this scale is not useful at all; I hope experts can help answer this question
It’s useful as it allows for adjusting the flow rate; in some brands, this information is engraved on the pump body, while in others it’s engraved on the control knob. One full turn of the scale represents a percentage value. For example, if the pump’s flow rate is 500 L/H and each turn corresponds to a 20% change, then to adjust the flow rate to 400 L/H, one full turn is sufficient. If the desired flow rate is 450 L/H, then half a turn is needed in order to reach the “5” mark on the scale. This is the function of the metering pump for measurement

The scale is theoretically based on a ratio of ten to one for the travel distance, but it is generally not accurate; recalibration is required when using it.
I remember that metering pumps come in different types: those with full stroke operation (frequency adjustment) and those with half stroke operation (fixed crank frequency); the method of adjustment certainly differs between these types.
