Our company is planning to install a low-temperature ethylene storage system (a 2000 m3 low-temperature ethylene tank). We would appreciate it if you could recommend some manufacturers of pumps for low-temperature ethylene. We are inclined to use in-tank pumps; if external pumps are considered, multi-stage barrel pump types are preferred. Multi-stage horizontal pumps or shielded pumps with proven performance in practical applications would also be acceptable. I’ve heard that there are manufacturers in China – does anyone know any of them?
The one inside the tank is the submersible pump, while the one outside the tank is the vertical cartridge pump.
Dalian Empire is capable of manufacturing conventional shielded pumps as well as cartridge-type shielded pumps. It has many years of experience in producing the conventional type, and this experience can be used as a reference
The main consideration is the pump inside the tank (submersible pump); besides foreign manufacturers, are there any domestic ones? It would be best to provide the name of the manufacturer. I know that in China, Dalian Empire and Haimitec are good manufacturers of cryogenic pumps; however, these two companies also do a great job with shielded pumps. I’m not sure how well they perform with tank pumps and multi-stage vertical sac pumps How is it performing in use?
For cartridge pumps, there is no need for shielded pumps; centrifugal pumps can be used, such as VS6, Sulzer, Fox, or domestic brands like Deep Blue

In China, only Dalian Deep Blue manufactures pumps for use inside tanks; the manufacturers of canned pumps are all those that produce pumps for use outside tanks
If it is an in-tank pump, companies such as Ebara from the United States and Nikkiso from Japan could be considered; for external tanks, imported brands like Imperial Pumping and Sulzer are viable options. However, in terms of practical use, an in-tank pump is better than one outside the tank, as it requires simpler piping and is easier to operate. But what about the price? The ones in the can are more expensive than those outside the can.
For low-temperature industries such as ethylene and LNG, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries’ low-temperature pumps can be used for both internal tank pumps and high-pressure transfer pumps.
If there are too many pump stages, it is recommended to use vertical pumps; horizontal pumps are not advised
