I usually work with centrifugal pumps and am not very familiar with diaphragm pumps. I have a few questions regarding pneumatic diaphragm pumps and hope you can offer your guidance. Some information can be found online, but it isn’t systematic; I’m asking everything here. Please answer if you know the answers, seniors. Regarding pneumatic diaphragm pumps: 1. What is the typical discharge pressure? Is it related to the inlet air pressure? Is the discharge pressure generally higher or lower than the inlet air pressure, and by how much? 2. What is the discharge flow rate, and what is its relationship with the inlet air pressure? 3. What is the typical inlet air pressure for conventional pneumatic diaphragm pumps? 4. What is the typical exhaust pressure? How does it compare to the inlet air pressure, and how does it compare to the discharge pressure? 5. Is the exhaust gas discharged directly into the air? 6. Do conventional pneumatic diaphragm pumps use a float connected to an air valve to automatically control start and stop based on liquid level?
You can think of it as a steam reciprocating pump: the outlet pressure has no relation to the flow rate, but it is related to the power, that is, the air pressure, as well as the maximum strength that each component of the equipment can withstand! When there is a lack of air, the air is usually released directly!
