Theoretical metering pumps can control the feed flow quite well, but our pump isn’t able to deliver material when the stroke is short – no flow is possible at levels below 25%
Import and export are no problem; the feed supply remains stable at 35% of the capacity

The piston does not move proportionally at small strokes. 3. The material may be compressed, or similar compression effects may occur for other reasons.
The optimal operating range for a typical metering pump is 60%-80%; it is not recommended to operate it at levels below 25%. What is the flow rate of this metering pump?
A metering pump with a plunger? Check if there’s oil in the diaphragm gap; this is rather difficult to do. Check the travel mechanism again for the rest.
What is the viscosity, and what is the inlet pressure?
Find out what the normal operating range for the metering pump in your home is. Most likely, the operating conditions are outside the normal operating range of the metering pump!

After the pump has been in operation for a long time, there is bound to be wear in the gaps between the various components of the pump’s drive section; as a result of this wear, those gap sizes increase. That’s why previously you needed to set the value at 5% to achieve the desired flow rate, but now you may need to set it at 25% in order to get the same 5% flow rate. Check whether the gaps between various components are within the specified range.
