A new copper sulfate pump has been installed in the plant. After several months of use, there is considerable noise on the side of the pump’s impeller. The blades have been disassembled as shown in the attachment; I would appreciate it if experts could help analyze this issue!
The wear-resistant plate in front has worn out; perhaps the gap between the impeller and that wear-resistant plate wasn’t adjusted properly.
The images show severe blade wear, caused by an excessively small clearance between the impeller and the pump casing.
Is it because the axial forces are not balanced, resulting in severe wear and damage due to friction between the blades and the cover plates?
The second image is not visible. First, check whether there is any grinding when the machine is rotated after installation or in a static state. It is necessary to check whether there are any problems with the bearings, especially those at the fixed end. There’s another guess, though I’m not sure if it’s correct. Generally, domestic factories refer to them as pumps or mechanical pumps, but Taiwanese companies call them PUMP. Moreover, some Taiwanese pumps come with adjustable backplates. It’s possible to adjust the pump pressure; could that be the issue? (I’m not very experienced, so this is just a guess on my part.)
