For some reason, after installing the centrifugal pump, the electromagnetic starter trips when trying to start the water pump; it often takes several attempts to get the pump to start
Before putting a thermal relay into use, its setting current must be adjusted to ensure that it matches the rated current of the motor being protected. What setting do you have for the one above?
When I bought it, the manufacturer set it to this value by default. My water pump has a power rating of 15 kilowatts; to which setting do I need to change it? Raise or lower?
The rated current of a 15-kilowatt motor at 380V is around 28A, and the setting is correct. Could it be a problem with the contactor?
The current for 15KW should be around 30A; the current is very high during startup. It is recommended to install an overload protector to protect the motor
Isn’t the thermal relay set at 1.15?
I’m not in the electrical field, but as far as I remember, our projects are all set at 1.15.
I’m not an electrical engineer either. When a thermal relay is used to protect motors that operate on a continuous or intermittent continuous basis, it is generally selected based on the motor’s rated current. For example, the setting value of the thermal relay can be set at 0.95 to 1.05 times the motor’s rated current; alternatively, the median value of the thermal relay’s setting currents can be taken as the motor’s rated current, and adjustments can then be made accordingly.
