What is the purpose of cutting the impeller in this way? What are the advantages?
For some open impellers, it is necessary to change the parameters of flow rate and head!
The reason I can think of is: turning the cover plate reduces the pressure at the front ring of the impeller, thereby minimizing volume losses.
That makes sense; take a closer look – there is a small hole drilled in the center of the front cover, at equal intervals. What’s this used for again?
It’s probably meant to reduce stress as well, but why go to such extremes? What is the head and speed of this pump?
It should be two stages at 2980; I’m not sure if this is related to the large clearance between the fluoroplastic pump ring and the shaft, which in turn affects the axial force balance
That’s not a hole, right? It must be something left over from injection molding, similar to the runners and gates used in casting
Only the designer knows the design concept! ! When something is designed arbitrarily without proper basis, yet we treat it as a reasonable design and guess blindly, it can mislead newcomers; I am not in favor of this
