What is this cover on the motor for?

One ordinary motor explosion-proof junction box, with a cover on it. Three small long bolts are used to hold it in place on the circular flange of the junction box, preventing it from falling off; judging from the paint, it seems to have been included with the motor when it left the factory What is this lid used for?
Rain cover to protect the motor’s power inlet from water ingress.
With such a small size, it can’t possibly be a silencer cover; so it must be just a rain cover, I guess:lol
The explosion-proof box already has protective functions; what about adding rain protection as well? How to ensure rain protection for the bearing caps?
An extra layer of protection, double assurance. Just like the pump’s residual liquid discharge port, it is equipped with a double valve.

It is rainproof or waterproof, but not the entire unit – only the wiring part is protected; therefore it should not be considered rainproof or waterproof； Explosion-proof – even less possible ； It was just for aesthetic reasons; a cover was made that seems to be able to protect against rain, water, and explosions
