The double-suction center-open BB1 pump has impellers that are very large and heavy; it achieves a static balance level of G6.3. The cover plates have been ground down to such an extent that only 70 grams remain – and that amount cannot be recovered :( The reason for this is that the centering was incorrect during the rough machining process. This shows that precise control during the rough machining stage is also extremely important for hydraulic components
The fact that the cover plates have become thinner indicates that weight balancing is necessary. Recommendations: 1: Perform static balancing on the blank once; 2: Consider adding weight on the opposite side of the area where weight reduction is needed; 3: If precision machining has not yet been carried out, the center hole can be adjusted; 4: For machining large parts, use a lathe or milling machine along with brackets and centers for proper machining
It’s a pity it’s already a finished product; the balance check was done only because of the excessive vibration of the pump
Well, that’s awkward; is the only option now to scrap it?
The pump for BB1 is quite expensive. I’m also curious and would like to ask, what are the plans for dealing with this going forward? :lol:)
