How to determine if there is a problem with the bearing of a canned pump by listening to the abnormal sound of its operation
The canned pump has a bearing operation monitoring table on site. It is ok in the green zone. In the yellow zone, maintenance must be considered. In the red zone, it is definitely not possible and the pump must be stopped immediately.
Determined by analysis of pump vibration and noise: 1. The pump vibrates, and the source of vibration comes from the two bearings of the motor, indicating that the bearings are worn and the bearing wear needs to be checked. 2. The pump vibrates. The source of vibration comes from the pump body. The outlet valve is closed and the pump pressure is normal. However, when the valve is opened, the pressure gauge indication suddenly drops and the operating current is lower than the normal value. This indicates that the pump is in a cavitation state and the inlet liquid level needs to be raised to meet the requirement.: Device NPSH = 1.3 × pump NPSH. 3. The pump vibrates, makes noise, the TRG meter indicates in the red zone, and the pump outlet pressure gauge is lower than the normal pressure, indicating that the pump is reversed and the power line phase sequence needs to be adjusted.
It is better to judge based on the bearing monitoring table and the change in motor current. It is not easy to judge by just listening to the sound, and it is not accurate.
