There is a water ring vacuum pump on site, with the following parameters: pumping speed: 72–90, inlet absolute pressure: 200–1013 hundred pascals, outlet absolute pressure: 1013 hundred pascals; according to the process requirements, a vacuum level of -56 KPa is sufficient for production. Since I’m completely new to the field of vacuum pumps, I searched for some information online, but it only made things more confusing; I wasn’t able to understand it thoroughly. What is the meaning of each of these three parameters? And how is the vacuum level of a vacuum pump determined? With an attitude of asking when in doubt, I hope the experts won’t laugh at me:D Embarrassed ̄□ ̄||
What are the units of these several values? Is the pumping speed in L/S? Are the other absolute pressures in KPa?
The logbook also does not specify the unit for the exhaust flow rate; the unit for absolute pressure is hectopascals:

The inlet vacuum level of your vacuum pump is between -80 and 0 KPa, which is around the -56 KPa value required by the process. Try reducing the pump’s suction speed to increase the inlet vacuum level, to see if the required level can be achieved

The absolute suction pressure refers to the ultimate vacuum level of the vacuum pump; it differs from the process requirement of -56 KPA (gauge pressure) – one is gauge pressure while the other is absolute pressure, and it’s a matter of unit conversion. As for the exhaust pressure, there’s no need to worry about it; it should be at normal atmospheric pressure. As long as the vacuum pump’s ultimate vacuum level meets the process requirements, that’s sufficient. From what you’ve described, it seems like the pump in question is a water ring vacuum pump, which can achieve a vacuum level of around -97 KPA. Even if there is some leakage at the site, it will still meet the process requirements
