To improve the level of maintenance for mechanical equipment, it can be done in two steps: (1) In maintenance work, it is essential to achieve three aspects, namely standardization, proceduralization, and institutionalization. Standardization involves making the maintenance tasks consistent, including specific actions such as cleaning components, adjusting parts, and inspecting equipment; corresponding regulations should be established based on the production characteristics of each enterprise. Process standardization involves formulating various maintenance procedures based on different equipment, and carrying out maintenance in accordance with those procedures. (2) Maintenance contracting system. The maintenance of equipment can be carried out on a contractual basis. Maintenance personnel are responsible for repairing the equipment in various production areas; together with the production operators, they carry out daily maintenance, routine inspections, periodic maintenance, planned repairs, and fault troubleshooting. They are also tasked with ensuring that key performance indicators such as the equipment availability rate meet specified standards, and these metrics are linked to performance evaluations and bonuses. The maintenance contracting system is an effective approach to enhancing equipment maintenance to serve production, as well as to motivate maintenance staff and encourage the initiative of production workers. (3) In modern industrial enterprises, equipment directly reflects the degree of modernization and management level of the enterprise, and it plays an increasingly important role in the enterprise’s production management process. It has a crucial impact on aspects such as the quality of products, production volume, production costs, task completion, energy consumption, and the human-machine working environment. Therefore, equipment plays a crucial role in the survival and development of manufacturing enterprises as well as their competitiveness in the market. Equipment maintenance is closely related to a company’s production operations and profitability. Especially with the continuous updating of equipment in businesses today, and the increasing use of high-precision, high-efficiency, automated devices, the importance of equipment maintenance becomes even more evident. (4) Implementing refined management means shifting from extensive management to intensive management. Isn’t this shift in development a reflection of the evolution of concepts? (5) The meticulous management of equipment and the reduction of energy consumption are ongoing tasks; as the performance of pumps improves, it is inevitable that energy use will decrease. Companies must not only continue to work hard to advance in this area but also make use of the advantages resulting from such efforts, as well as any inefficiencies, in order to strengthen and expand themselves. It is necessary to continuously use detailed analysis and planning to refine one’s management strategies in order to adapt to changes in the external environment and competition. The above are my suggestions for improving the maintenance level of pump equipment.
