To find where the bearings of a multi-stage pump are located, one needs to check the drawings. Under normal circumstances, bearings at both ends of the multi-stage pump shaft are supported by separate bearing housings; in this case, there is no need to disassemble the impeller assembly. Between impellers, impeller clamps are commonly used for connection, which is a type of sliding bearing; this is probably what you are referring to. When performing maintenance, special attention must be paid to the fact that for each stage of impeller that is removed, it is necessary to number them individually and mark their left and right sides. This is done to ensure that the reinstallation time intervals remain roughly consistent; otherwise, it is very easy to wear out the impeller or even cause it to get stuck. After disassembly, inspect the impeller retaining ring and the casing mouth ring one by one; replace them if there are any issues. Another issue is the detachment of the housing mouth ring, which is often caused by damage to the anti-rotation pin.
