Why is it called an oil-thinning station?

I have a rather naive question for all of you experts. Why are some lubricating oil systems called light oil stations, while others are called heavy oil stations? If so, what is the difference between light oil and heavy oil?
Some large power units are equipped with oil dilution stations, which are used to lubricate the bearing shells of these units. These usually refer to oil lubrication stations shared by several machines; if the lubrication is provided by the unit itself, then it is considered a lubrication system rather than an oil dilution station
In our company, the smoke exhaust unit was previously called an oil dilution station; I thought the two were the same thing. Just change the name. I don’t know there are differences either; I’ve studied it.*
