I encountered a selection issue where the medium is sulfur foam, at normal temperature and pressure； This is the first time I’ve encountered this medium. The original pump model used by the client seems to be a slurry pump. I would like to ask whether a chemical process pump can meet the requirements? Is an open impeller needed? Thank you
It is recommended to use positive displacement pumps, such as gear pumps, screw pumps, or diaphragm pumps; ordinary slurry pumps are not suitable for transporting foam. Some manufacturers in China have modified slurry pumps into foam pumps, which is also an option – you may want to consider foam pumps used in firefighting as a reference
There are specialized foam pumps, and companies that manufacture slurry pumps generally have them as well
