Currently, in the petrochemical industry, there are self-priming pumps available without seals as well as those equipped with vacuum pumping functions or with internal injection nozzles inside the tank. We would appreciate it if users could evaluate the advantages and disadvantages of these pumps, and suggest which type would be preferable for procurement purposes
Suction pumps include the FMZ type horizontal suction pump and the WFB type vertical suction pump. Horizontal pumps require a seal, and vacuuming is necessary during the first startup; the suction height is generally within 5 meters. They take up a lot of space. Vertical suction pumps mostly feature a dynamic seal with an auxiliary impeller, and pumping with liquid is also required during the first startup, but they are smaller in size and occupy less space. After being filled with liquid for the first time, they can achieve permanent automatic suction
1. Sealed-free self-priming pumps are durable but have low efficiency; they are suitable for wastewater containing impurities. 2. Horizontal and vertical self-priming pumps equipped with vacuum pumps offer high efficiency but have more failure points; they are suitable for clean fluids where cavitation must not occur. 3. Horizontal self-priming pumps with mechanical seals fall between the first two types.
The seal-less models have low efficiency, but are stable in operation and require low maintenance costs. Self-priming pumps with vacuum pumping functions are relatively simple to use but pose difficulties in terms of maintenance. Self-priming pumps equipped with internal spray nozzles offer high efficiency, yet they are expensive and come with higher maintenance costs
