Features and Applications of Shielded Pumps: A shielded electric pump consists of a shielded motor and a pump combined into one unit. The inner surface of the stator and the outer surface of the rotor are covered with thin-walled, non-magnetic, corrosion-resistant metal cylinders, which isolate the stator windings and the rotor core from the fluid being transported, preventing them from being corroded by that fluid. Additionally, the impeller is directly mounted at the shaft end of the rotor, with the entire rotor submerged in the fluid; there are no rotating components that are in contact with the outside environment. This results in a leak-free structure, and thus it offers the following advantages: ① Due to complete absence of leaks, it is suitable for transporting liquids that are harmful to humans, liquids that are prone to explosion or combustion, valuable liquids, and corrosive liquids. ②Due to complete isolation from the outside air, it is suitable for transporting liquids that can deteriorate upon contact with external gases. ③Due to the lack of an axial seal, it is suitable for systems with high pressure, as well as for liquids with high melting points, high-temperature liquids, and low-temperature liquids. ④Since no lubrication is required, it does not contaminate the liquid being transported, and it eliminates the hassle of filling and draining oil. ⑤Since the motor and pump are integrated on the same axis, it has a small size and light weight, occupies little space, and is easy to disassemble for inspection. ⑥The motor is cooled by water or naturally, without fans, resulting in low operating vibration and noise.
