A new pump was purchased and worked without any problems for dozens of days; however, now that the pump is shut down in the workshop, its mechanical seal has burned out. The manager asked me to communicate with the manufacturer to resolve this issue. I don’t think it’s a pump issue; it’s an operation issue, but they at the site said the operation is fine. I just feel that doing this isn’t quite right

There’s no fluid in the pump, so the mechanical seal must be burning out; generally, manufacturers don’t cover such situations
I can’t figure out what the reason is; normal operation shouldn’t cause the pump to stop and the seal to burn out. Is there negative pressure at the pump inlet? Please confirm whether Plan32 should be selected for sealing, and whether the workshop should first shut down unit 32 before shutting down the pump. Or was it the inlet valve that was closed first, followed by the pump? Please let the original poster explain the reason on the forum so that we can all learn from it.
How do you know it was burned... Has the specific cause of the damage been determined?
It is recommended to send photos of the damaged mechanical seal; that way it will be clear at a glance.
