How is the seal compression amount measured for IS type horizontal single-stage centrifugal pumps? Which specific points should be measured? How can one determine the position of the dynamic ring of the mechanical seal on the shaft sleeve?
(1) Verify whether the operating parameters of the equipment’s medium match the technical parameters of the installed seal. Lubricate the shaft and the “O” ring, then fit the seal onto the shaft ； (2) Apply clean lubricating oil to the “O” ring on the mechanical seal, as well as to the areas where the “O” rings on the shaft pass through; then push the locking ring to slide the mechanical seal onto the shaft. (3) Tighten the mechanical seal gland symmetrically and evenly, making sure it is properly tightened ； (4) Tighten the hexagonal locking screws on the machine seal fixing ring evenly until they are firmly secured ； (5) Remove the 3 positioning blocks and keep them safe ； (6) Rotate the shaft in the direction of its axis to determine whether the mechanical seal operates smoothly and easily, and listen for any unusual noises coming from the mechanical seal or the sealing chamber; if necessary, remove the mechanical seal and reinstall it ； (7) Before starting the equipment, take all necessary preventive measures to prevent dry friction from occurring during the operation of the mechanical seal
