What is the specific function of these two holes?
Water is added before starting the pump to discharge the gas inside the pump.
It’s not the large hole in the middle, but rather the two small holes made by hand. :
It’s supposed to be used for venting and draining; I’m not sure what pipelines are connected to the housing
It should be for filling liquid and draining liquid, in order to create a self-priming vacuum condition inside the pump chamber
I remember our ones don’t have holes here; touch it and see if there are any holes elsewhere on the inner ring – normally, those holes are there for self-priming
