Pump operating conditions: Medium – hot water; temperature 108–110 degrees Celsius. Continuous operation. Pump type – pipeline pump. Inlet pressure: 0.6 Mpa. Flow rate: 80 m3/h. Head: 40 m. Initially, a double-end mechanical seal was used, along with cooling water, but the performance was not satisfactory; the repair frequency was high. A different solution is needed now, so I hope experts can provide some suggestions. Thank you!
An ISR-type pump will suffice, equipped with a high-temperature mechanical seal.
The issue with the mechanical seal is relatively easy to resolve; it mainly stems from misalignment of the coupling in the pipeline pump. The motor must be from Siemens, which means that the pump shaft and the motor shaft are separate. After being fixed using a sleeve coupling, centerline deviation can occur after operation for some time, leading to damage to the mechanical seal and the impeller
I’ve come across coupling devices of the pornographic style, which are used for connecting hydraulic coupler fans. There are requirements for the up-and-down eccentricity distance during installation, in order to ensure concentricity after the temperature rises; I wonder if this can be used as a reference. Given the low flow rate, this pump isn’t very large; it might be possible to use a coupling of the pin and spring washer type or the plum blossom petal type, and to increase the vertical alignment distance appropriately during installation – for reference only.
