Is there any grinding or binding between the screws? Are there any hard particles in the material? Has it been started with high torque?
Broken teeth indicate that the gear pair is overloaded. The reasons can be investigated using the following two suggestions: one is that difficult rotation of the driven screw due to shaft binding leads to overload of the gear pair and subsequent tooth breakage; the other is that the gear tooth profile chosen is too small, resulting in an insufficient capacity to handle the operating torque.

First, measure the rotor meshing clearance and reduce it by half. Then install the two gears; the gear meshing clearance should be 12 microns.
