Pumps are generally installed in a one-main-and-one-redundant configuration. A submersible pump is currently being used to transport concentrated sulfuric acid. Is it necessary to have another submersible pump as a backup in this case? Does the backup pump also need to be placed in sulfuric acid?

For what kind of equipment, a backup pump can be considered, but I think you can opt for horizontal centrifugal pumps for transportation; plastic pumps or magnetic pumps are also viable options
If continuous operation is required, use pumps for the equipment; if the container is not sealed, make two openings in the storage tank and install two pumps there.
