Dear experts, at the citric acid plant, the current operating condition involves transporting a 50% CaSO4 solution, with a flow rate of around 10 cubic meters and a head of 20 meters. Could you please recommend an appropriate pump for this purpose? Some have suggested using the DT series desulfurization pumps used in wet flue gas desulfurization, made of material A49. I’m not sure if this is suitable, whether it can handle the requirements, and how long it will last under normal operation Is there a better dedicated pump for such operating conditions? Could you please recommend some? I’d be very grateful!
It is necessary to verify your process parameters: the corrosivity of the solution, the presence of particles, flow rate, head, NPSH, etc. Based on this, the pump material can be selected, and then the pump itself can be determined
After determining data such as the density, solid content, particle size, and temperature of the calcium sulfate solution, one can then decide what type of pump to use.
