Operating Procedures for Pneumatic Diaphragm Pumps 1. The temperature of the material transported by the pneumatic diaphragm pump should be <100°C in order to ensure the proper functioning of the diaphragm. 2. Before starting the pneumatic diaphragm pump, ensure that the system is in good condition after inspection; then fill the pump head with the liquid to be transported, so that the liquid can flow into the pump by gravity. 3. Connect the power supply, then start the drive motor of the gearbox, and subsequently adjust the fine-tuning knob of the slip clutch control device to make the crankshaft rotate. 4. Remove the cover from the control valve, and manually press the upper end of the oil filling valve core several times to remove the air from the hydraulic chamber until no bubbles are visible. At this point, the hydraulic fluid has filled the chamber, and normal operation can begin. 5. When using a pneumatic diaphragm pump, it is best for the pressure at the control valve to be equal to the pressure at the nozzle, so as to avoid too large a pressure difference in front of the diaphragm. 6. When using a pneumatic diaphragm pump, it is necessary to regularly check the temperature of the feed pump, the pressure of the liquid exiting the pump, and the operating condition of the pump. 7. When shutting down a pneumatic diaphragm pump, first adjust the slip clutch control device to the ‘0’ position so that the crankshaft stops rotating. 8. If a pneumatic diaphragm pump is left unused for an extended period, the remaining liquid in the pump head must be drained to prevent the ball valve from clogging and corroding the inlet and outlet ports. 9. Pneumatic diaphragm pumps generally use 40# engine oil, and the existing oil should be cleaned thoroughly when changing the oil. 10. Keep the pneumatic diaphragm pump clean at all times, and ensure good insulation of the motor. Make timely records of operations, shutdowns, accidents, repairs, etc.
