Recently, Hefei General Research Institute signed a contract for a research and development project related to high-temperature heat pumps. This project is part of the “Deep Geothermal Energy Coupled and Integrated Energy Supply-Storage Technology” initiative under the SASAC’s Future Industries Initiative, aiming to make breakthroughs in core technologies for the development of deep geothermal energy and integrated multi-energy storage systems, thereby contributing to the creation of a new paradigm for green and low-carbon energy utilization. Aiming at innovative energy utilization models, the project promotes the efficient integration of geothermal energy with various other energy sources, enabling coordinated operation between energy supply and storage, thereby supporting the efficient use of clean energy. Our institute will take the lead in the research and development of the core equipment for the efficient utilization of deep geothermal energy, as well as in the creation of prototypes, leveraging our technical advantages to overcome key challenges. Once implemented, this project will reduce industrial energy consumption and carbon emissions, providing essential equipment support for the large-scale utilization of deep geothermal energy and the advancement of the \"dual carbon\" goals.
